Nostradamus C3 Q57: N's astrolabe parameters give angular change in Earth's polar axis.

Rastaban as guide to size of Nostradamus' Polar Axis shiftNostradamus' words in the text of his Prophecies often are so bizarre that their inclusion hints he chose them for some special purpose. This is particularly true of verse C3 Q57's fourth line where Nostradamus chose to put the highly obscure astronomy reference 'Aries doubt son pole Bastarnan'  where we can see the suggestion of  a pole losing its position but no meaning is easily ascribed to the term Bastarnan. Yet when used as a basis for an anagram that lettering delivers the name Rastaban which is a star that was a crucial pointer for a much more ancient Pole Star (thuban)

Nostradamus guide in his 1558 Epistle to Henry about an event that shakes the Earth's axisThis is not the only singularly occurring astronomic anagram appearing in this line for there is also astrolabe ( L4.. ole Baſtar) and Pole Star(A-B).  But there is also another for boundaries (L4..n Aries doub) that again appears in the fourth line.

The collection of so many rare but specific terms that have relevance to such a specific part of a unique topic is outstanding but this is greatly enhanced by all but boundaries (one other)  appearing  uniquely in the fourth line of this single verse. And all this is supported  by the context given in the text of the host line and together they imply movement of a celestial Pole Star.

The mention of Aries is consistent with astronomic practice for  that star is the historical lead star of the zodiac. All of this suggests this verse was set up as a record of an event not so far detected at any period of the Earth's history.

Nostradamus centuries 3 quatrain 57 Rastaban Pole Star on Astrolabe boundaries ChainNow an astrolabe is a device used for determining astronomic settings. This type of device was commonly used in the sixteenth century. Rastaban  means Head of the Snake (L4...Baſtarna) and it is a binary (twin star) having both an A and B component. In the past its motion has seen it move on the boundary of the stars that are called  circumpolar. It is able to be implied from these terms that Rastaban becomes the Pole Star but such a change requires a vast shock that changes the direction of the polar axis. This is a nigh impossible task requiring forces not so far having any record in the Earth's long history.

# Rastaban: alternate Arabic name for the star Beta Draconis and it means 'head of the Serpent'.
# Tanzanite: name for blue coloured gemstone discovered in the 20thC in Tanzania.
# astrolabe: an elaborate inclinometer used by astronomers, navigators and astrologers to measure star and planet locations.

The Axis shift verse series in Nostradamus' PropheciesThe above features due to their explicability via the quote from the 1558 Epistle provide the basis for pairing this verse with C3 Q57. Both verses have powerful links back to the quote shown above with C4 Q86's credentials hinging on the earthly description of the event and its aftermaths while those of C3 Q57 focus on the alteration in the historical view of the heavens from earth.
