Nostradamus C8 Q16: Leaders who squander the chance to adapt to climate change
Copyright: Allan Webber, December 2015, 2022
This verse is linked to the climatic events set out in
C1 Q17
and it identifies personages who fail their people by not paying
attention to the warning bells found in Nostradamus' verses. The
significance of these world wide flooding events is set out in my paper
called Floods.
The
text of Centuries 8 Quatrain 16 ties it firmly to the quote in the 1555
Preface that provides the cornerstone guidance about Nostradamus' major themes. The
relevant sections of the Preface commentary are shown alongside. These
quotes and the verses linked to them are prominent in the trail I compiled
for reconstructing Nostradamus' work.
The connections between verses and this quote,
together
with modern topics uniting the anagrams in these verses, enables the trail
for floods to be followed. In so doing it removes
the obscurities faced by earlier analysts.
The main verses
involved are listed in pairs in the table (top right). I list them in
pairs because there is a natural fit of ideas using that style but they
also form a cohesive whole with cross-threads between the text and
anagrams of all verses in the group of ten.
This
verse pairs with C9 Q69 because their text involves vast floods of the
nature mentioned in the quotes.
In line 4 of C9 Q69 we have "Lobster
on land" implying a flood reaching up into the mountains.
That line also states "not a third thereof will remain" which
is the counterpart to the entry in the quote saying "there shall not
be scarcely and land". But it is also a near perfect match to the
statement in the current verseC8 Q16, which says there will be such a great sudden
flood that one won't have place nor land to fall upon; the waters mount
to the Olympic Fesulan"
The rarest anagrams found in the current verse provide a
sinister basis for themes already begun in earlier parts of the trail. They
involve environmental hazards resulting from human behavior. Their outcome is
increased illness and death. This aspect also ties it to other verses in this
series.
